6 Days Hike to Mtae Usambara

A fantastic tour which combine several attractions such as forests a home to black and white Columbus monkeys, traditional villages, viewpoints, visiting pottery women group, get informed about the history of Chief of Washambaa, learn the life style of Shambaa people as the main tribe in Usambara Mountains. Mtae village is situated at the edge of the mountain, from there you can see Mkomazi National Park, Maasai plains, on clear days you can see Kilimanjaro, Tsavo National Park in Kenya, and Taita Hills in Kenya

Day 1: MOSHI TO LUSHOTO  -Swiss Farm

This trip will start in Moshi town to Swiss Farm cottages Via Lushoto town.

Day 2: SWISS FARM TO LUKOZI.
The tour starts by driving from Lushoto to Magamba village where you start walking through Magamba rain forest the home to black and white Columbus monkeys, flowers, birds, with more up and down hills to the village of Lukozi for dinner and overnight.FB

Day 3: LUKOZI TO RANGWI
After breakfast walk along valleys and sloping hill sides of the inner Usambara Mountain passing by the vegetable farms lined with eucalyptus and banana trees. You will pass through the villages of Malindi, Makose and Kagulio, proceed to Rangwi Catholic mission for dinner and overnight.FB

Day 4: RANGWI TO MTAE

From Rangwi walk through traditional villages and learn about typical traditional life style of washambaa, pottery women group to Mtae ( World view point with spectacular views overlooking Maasai plains, Mkomazi National Park, Tsavo west in Kenya and on clear day Kilimanjaro can be seen on the horizon. Also is a good place for viewing sun rise and suns, dinner and overnight at Mwivano guest

Day 5: MTAE TO MLALO
After breakfast walk to Goka village for at least half an hour to the beginning of the forest, traditional villages, pottery women to Mlalo for dinner and overnight.FB

Day 6: MLALO TO MKUZI
Drive to Mkuzi village about two hours then walk to the Mkuzu waterfall which situated inside the forest then after enjoying the waterfall walk back to Muller’s Lodge for overnight.FB

Day 7: MKUZI TO MAMBO VIEW POINT.
Drive from Muller’s Lodge to Kwesimu village then start walking to Irente Farm and the view point, a famous view point in Usambara with amazing views overlooking Mazinde village almost 1,000 meters below the vast Maasai plains, beyond.

Day 8: Staying at MAMBO VIEW

Day 9: MAMBO VIEW TO FISH EAGLE

After breakfast a transfer will pick you to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and for sure the most beautiful in Tanzania
